Magazine Page Bows

My first holiday craft this year is making bows from magazine pages. It's super easy, and lets you reuse all of those magazines and catalogs laying around. Here are the directions.

1. Cut a page from a magazine or catalog into nine strips, each about 3/4 inch wide. (I don't measure, just eyeball it - you'll have a tiny bit left from an ordinary magazine page after cutting the nine strips.)

2. Of these nine strips, leave 3 the full length, cut one inch off of 3, cut two inches off of 2, and make the final strip about 3 and 1/2 inches long.

3. Twist each strip into a figure eight, and staple in the center. The shortest strip should be formed into a ring and secured with glue. (I used glue stick, but any glue should work.)

4. Layer the pieces, starting with the three longest, working your way to the shortest pieces. Secure each piece with glue.

5. Stick the loop in the center and you have a finished bow!

I've made bows out of magazine pages, catalog pages, old wrapping paper scraps and scrapbook paper. Good Luck!

These are awesome! I'm not sure if I could get them to turn out as perfectly as yours, though. Might have to pass this on to my sister.

As a recipient of one of Mindi's bows, I can attest that these are freakn' fantastic!
