I, too, loved the quote at the bottom. I'm finding out how true it is now that I live so far away from longtime friends. I believe if someone means a lot to you, it should not be a struggle to invest time and energy in him/her and vice versa. (i.e. Just send the birthday card rather than an e-mail about how I didn't rank high enough to make it off the "To Do" list!) I've decided that I'm not investing any more time in people that don't have time or a genuine interest in my little life. That includes people who are only interested in me for the sake of gossip or to feel better about their own lives. It's really self-preservation on my part. You, of course, will always be someone who matters. :)
