When I try and think back to the very earliest memories I have in life, a few things come to mind. In most of those memories, Stacey is there - We have literally known each other since birth.
Here is one of my favorite pictures of us, along with other kids of our parent's group of friends. (Yes, that's me in the brown turtle neck and bowl cut, Stacey on the other hand got to look and dress like a girl.)

We have been through just about everything together - slumber parties, dance classes, dressing Jennifer up like a hooker for Halloween, Stacey's Crew, putting Jennifer in a trashcan, finding hot dogs in the yellow couch, hungry hungry hippos, cleaning for "prizes," Neutron Dance, baby bottles, bananas, Myrtle Beach (I've got 8 words for you,) Baking Cookies (oy vey,) "Up til Dawn," big hair, bus talks, talent shows, hiding piercings at Easter brunch, toilet papering, splish splash, and best of all - setting microwaves on fire.
Nice Hair huh?

Mixed in with all of these memories, she has taught me to speak my mind and stick up for myself, that it's ok to have an opinion and to voice it, and most of all - to never settle for less than what you deserve in life.
I am so thankful to have her in my life and will always believe in the lyrics from the song in Dirty Dancing - "What we've shared won't be forgotten, Old friends are the best."
