Evening Updates!

- Nip/Tuck returns to FX on Tuesday, Jan. 6 for an eight-episode run. A final, 19-episode sixth season will wrap up the series in early 2011.

- The Office actor-writer B.J. Novak (Ryan) is taking a leave of absence from the show to appear in Quentin Tarantino's latest film. NBC declined to comment, but a Peacock insider says Novak asked producers for the time off and they obliged.

- The CW has ordered five additional episodes of Privileged, the increasingly addictive Tuesday night drama. What's more, the CW is temporarily giving the show one of its most coveted time slots: Mondays at 9 p.m. after Gossip Girl. On Dec. 1 and 8, Privileged will air behind original episodes of Gossip Girl, replacing previously scheduled One Tree Hill repeats.

- Fox has canceled Mad TV

- Days of Our Lives has been renewed for 18 more months (My Mom just breathed a sigh of relief...)

Glad to hear my "guilty pleasure" DAYS soap is not going away. I'm still having issues with the possible departure of the ever-so-appealing James Scott aka EJ DiMera.

And I'm not the slightest bit excited about the return of Nip/Tuck...it just got weird and stupid last year, so doubt if it could win me back.
