November sweeps is just around the corner which means that TV shows will be full of special guests, long-awaited returns, and music awards.
Oct. 30 / 30 Rock
NBC, 9:30 - The NBC Emmy-winning sitcom makes its delayed debut with a host of big-name guests, from Oprah Winfrey to Megan Mullally. This is the funniest show on television - - if you aren't watching it, you should be ashamed!
Nov. 1 / Saturday Night Live
NBC, 11:30 - Saturday brings its regular outing, hosted by Ben Affleck and with musical guest David Cook (yummy!!), followed on Monday by the Saturday Night Live Presidential Bash —a two-hour mix of clips and new material.
Nov. 4 / Election Night
Interest in this presidential election seems unusually high, and you'll see that reflected in increased coverage on election night. Look for it in all the regular places.
Nov. 5 / Law & Order
NBC, 10:00 - Another NBC favorite reappears for sweeps, as Law & Order comes out of hiding to reoccupy its old Wednesday slot.
Nov. 13 / Grey's Anatomy
ABC, 9:00 - You can always count on Grey's for a sweeps stunt. This time, that includes a visit by Battlestar's Mary McDonnell as a tough new surgeon who shakes up the operating room. And probably dates someone.
Nov. 16 / Desperate Housewives
ABC, 9:00 - Characters arrive during sweeps — but they also depart. Which means Housewives is about to clean house yet again, with a fire-induced exit.
Nov. 19 / America's Next Top Model
CW, 8:00 - Someone will be crowned America's Next Top Model. Well, America's Next Mid-level Model would be more accurate — but hey, for most of these girls, that's still a sizeable employment promotion.
Nov. 23/ American Music Awards
ABC, 8:00 - Performers include Annie Lennox, Alicia Keys, Pink, New Kids on the Block, and Rhianna.
Nov. 25 / Dancing With the Stars Finale
ABC, 8 - Assuming we're not election-exhausted, we can end the month by choosing the top Dancing Celebrity.
